The Gaijin Board: Should It Die?

Should this board close to posting and go read-only?
Yeah, I think it's past its prime, and it doesn't look like people are that interested anymore. 6%  6%  [ 1 ]

I will admit I only check the board on an occasional basis, but I do like to think that when I am here I can still post a snarky comment about Cully sucking up to Felicia Day at Dragon Con or some such stuff. Benno

That probably is a sufficient reason.

Who here wouldn't suck up to Felicia?

I was too dumbfounded to suck up. I just tried to get a picture-which Laura Martin was kind enough to help me with. Cully is just more comfortable around celebs than me. I go directly to my default mode of slack mouthed gaping. Benno

:?:  :?:

I don't know if "comfortable" is the right word. Maybe I'm just better at hiding it...

I'd like to see the board get jumping again.

Although, considering I've let me posting here fall by the wayside years ago, maybe I should just shut up.

I'm cool with trying to make a handful of posts a week to do my part... but damn it everybody else better too.

And what if we refuse? What if we all just insist on lurking because we're lazy or shy or (in my case) never get around to scanning our work? Eh?

Of course, now I'm posting more, so my lurker status has been revoked. I won't get invited to the holiday party. Ce la vie.

I don't think the board should die, but we do have to admit a shift has occurred in the last two years..

I just dropped by the board on a whim and realized I hadn't posted sind oct 2008.. I follow most of the Gaijiners on facebook, and recently twitter, and I just don't have the time to repost everything here.

I think the board should consolidate.. You don't really need updates for Gaijin members here because If they have a blog, facebooks or whatever, I follow it instead.. I just found that Cully has a blog and I'm on it..

Maybe shrink down to 1 thread.. And have a way for some of the posts to be shared on some of the networking sites.. FB, TWIT, Blogger, et al.

Maybe even just a Gaijin Groups on FB where we can share our art with each other.

Those are my thoughts.

riq.
